What are Garage Door Springs?
The garage door spring is an important part of the system that helps lift the door as it opens and closes. Without it, the door would be too heavy to lift manually, and the automatic opener wouldn’t work. Most garage doors use either torsion springs, which are above the door, or extension springs, which are on the sides.
Garage door springs usually last about 10,000 cycles, though some last longer or shorter depending on how often you use the door. When we replace the springs, we change both at the same time (no extra charge for the second spring). This way, if one spring breaks, the other can still help lift the door, letting you get your vehicle out if you’re stuck inside. Trust our garage door technicians to get your door back to working condition right away!

What is the difference between torsion springs and extension springs?
Torsion springs are mounted above the garage door and provide lifting power by twisting, while extension springs are located on either side of the door and stretch to provide lift. Torsion springs are generally more durable and efficient, making them a popular choice for heavier doors, while extension springs are often used for lighter doors.
